We provide the following tests to help monitor, diagnose, and guide your healthcare plan:

CBC (Complete Blood Count)

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) test is a vital diagnostic tool that measures the levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This evaluation helps to assess overall health and can reveal underlying conditions such as anemia, various infections, or immune disorders

CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)

A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) is a test that thoroughly assesses various aspects of health, focusing on kidney and liver function, electrolyte levels, and blood glucose levels. It can provide invaluable insights into organ health and metabolic balance, allowing healthcare providers to identify potential issues and monitor the body’s biochemical processes effectively. By analyzing these key parameters, a CMP aids in developing a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s overall health status.

LPP (Lipid Panel)

A lipid panel measures the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood. It specifically assesses the concentration of High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), often referred to as good cholesterol, which plays a crucial role in transporting cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver.

In contrast, it also measures Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL), commonly known as bad cholesterol, which can lead to plaque buildup in the arteries and increase the risk of heart disease. By evaluating these lipid levels, the test provides essential insights into your overall heart health and helps determine your risk for developing cardiovascular diseases, or undergoing a sudden complication such as a heart attack or stroke.

A1C Test

The A1C test is a crucial diagnostic tool that measures your average blood sugar levels over the past three months, providing a comprehensive view of your blood glucose control. This test plays an essential role in diagnosing diabetes and pre-diabetes, helping healthcare professionals assess the effectiveness of a patient’s current treatment plan and make informed decisions for ongoing management of their condition.

Insulin Test

An insulin test is a clinical procedure that measures the concentration of insulin in the bloodstream. This assessment is crucial for evaluating how well your body metabolizes glucose, as it helps to identify conditions such as insulin resistance, where the body’s cells do not respond effectively to insulin. Additionally, this test can play a pivotal role in the early detection of diabetes, allowing for timely intervention and management of the disease before it progresses.

TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) Test

The Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test assesses the function of the thyroid gland by measuring the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone in the bloodstream. By evaluating these hormone levels, we can effectively identify various thyroid-related conditions, including hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Additionally, this test aids in diagnosing other disorders associated with thyroid dysfunction, providing valuable insights into a person’s overall metabolic health.

Hormone Testing for Men and Women

Hormone testing services meticulously assess hormone levels, including testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone, among others. This in-depth evaluation is designed to provide insights into hormonal balance and reproductive health, as well as to identify underlying issues related to weight gain, persistent fatigue, and mood fluctuations. By analyzing these crucial hormones, we aim to offer a clearer understanding of your health and well-being.

Lab testing FAQ

How often should I have a CBC or CMP test?

Routine Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) tests are highly recommended annually as essential components of your wellness examination. These tests provide insights into your overall health status and help identify potential health issues early on. If you have persistent health concerns or a pre-existing condition, your healthcare provider may suggest conducting these tests more frequently to closely monitor your health and adjust your care accordingly.

Who needs a Lipid Panel Test?

Adults over 20 should have a lipid panel test every 4 to 6 years. However, individuals with risk factors such as high blood pressure, obesity, or a family history of heart disease may need to be tested more frequently.

Why is the A1C test critical?

If you are experiencing symptoms commonly associated with diabetes, including persistent thirst, an unusual blurriness in your vision, or a constant feeling of fatigue, it would be beneficial to undergo an A1C test. This test is crucial as it can effectively diagnose the condition and allow for ongoing monitoring of your blood sugar levels, enabling you to manage your health more effectively.

When should I get my hormones tested?

If you have symptoms like unexplained weight gain, mood swings, low libido, or fatigue, hormone testing can reveal imbalances affecting your quality of life, whether you’re female or male. Once we identify an imbalance, we can address it with our hormone replacement therapy, which can significantly improve your overall well-being.

How often should thyroid levels be checked?

For individuals experiencing thyroid-related symptoms such as noticeable weight fluctuations, excessive hair loss, and persistent fatigue, it is advisable to undergo a Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test annually. Depending on the severity and specific nature of the thyroid condition, more frequent testing may be warranted to ensure proper diagnosis and management of one’s health.

Private Pay vs. Insurance Billed Labs

We can bill labs to your insurance and offer private-pay lab services. It is the patient’s responsibility to verify their diagnostic lab coverage and their out-of-pocket cost for labs. The alternative lab we use offers special private-pay pricing that is generally lower than what your out-of-pocket cost would be if your insurance did not cover your labs.

If you opt for private pay, this cost would not apply to your deductible. Once you make a selection and the labs are run we cannot reverse this option, so it is very important to consider these options fully. Please reach out to our team if you need assistance.

Lab Discussion

We always recommend a follow up lab discussion with a provider to educate the patient on what their lab results mean. This discussion with a provider IS considered an appointment, you will be responsible for your copay or private pay fee.

During this appointment, providers may recommend medication changes, supplements, further testing, or lifestyle changes based on your results. If you are unable or unwilling to cover this fee and wish to opt out of the recommended lab discussion you may. Please inform our staff of your preference.

Your labs will be uploaded to your portal if billed through insurance (if you’ve created your patient account) and private pay lab results can be requested by phone or email.
